“If you know the code, then it’s going to yield some insights, and if you don’t, it looks like you’re watching a James Bond movie and the spies are speaking to each other in a language that they intend for you not to understand,” he said.įed watchers are often scouring for clues that the committee consensus is more fragile than Chair Jay Powell lets on. Here’s a reading: “‘In their assessment of the monetary policy stance necessary for achieving the committee’s maximum employment and price stability goals, members agree that with appropriate firming in the stance of monetary policy … ‘” Krosby said.Ī summer beach read it’s not, but Fed minutes are deliberately written that way, according to Peter Conti-Brown at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. “You’ve got to explain to them that fresh coffee is better than coffee that’s sitting there for an hour,” Krosby said.īecause she said the Fed minutes - a summary of the conversation, not the actual dialogue - are best paired with stimulants. Since those minutes come out in the afternoon East Coast time, Quincy Krosby at LPL Financial sometimes has to have an awkward conversation with Dunkin’ employees. Three weeks after the open market committee meeting, the Fed releases the minutes. Filled with economic jargon, Fed minutes may not be good book club fodder, but they’re worth paying attention to. Eastern time, we get the minutes from that meeting. Why bring up such ancient news? Well, on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Remember the first week of this month? May 3 and 4, to be exact? Those are the dates that the Federal Open Market Committee met to talk about what to do about this whole inflation thing.Įven if you don’t remember the meeting, if you listen to this program, you probably remember what they voted for: a half-percentage-point hike in interest rates aimed at cooling down the economy and, with it, price growth.

But on MacMini, Google Drive works too but with an issue. The weird thing is that Google Drive works normally on MacBook Pro. I am also using Google Drive on both devices (with streaming option). But it does not!Ĭan you have a look on this? It seems like ongoing issue for some time as I can see from reactions here on forum. I updated both my Mac mini (M1chip) and MacBook Pro (2016) to the macOS Monterey yesterday. My colleagues usually works from Windows Explorer so this workaround is not suitable - Box client should be the one who maintains up-to-date sync between web version and PC, no matter what. In this case& you do not go for the update and try using the old version. There is simply no option and right-click on Box folder in Windows Explorer resync only main folder, not subfolders. This prevents Google Drive backup and sync on macOS Big Sur. Click on the Google Drive icon in the menu bar and choose the cog settings icon. However, we cannot push Box Drive client on Windows to fully resync, nor it does automatically (unless we wait to the next day). Here are 7 solutions to solve Google Drive does not sync problem: Check your internet connection. Open Google Drive from your Applications folder. This locates Folder20220718 on the web and initiate resync to desktop so it is available in Windows Explorer. As a workaround, we can use Box search functionality via Tray icon.To see this Folder20220718, we have to wait to another day usually. However, it is usually not available on our colleague's PCs no matter restarts/log-outs.Folder Folder20220718 is available to all users via web browser, no issue here.Folder is created by system/user to Box, let's call such folder "Folder20220718" - it might have already one file inside.Right-click the Google Drive icon in the Notification area. If new folder is create, it takes random amount of time to sync to desktop from web. Select the Folders You Want Sync in Google Drive First, make sure you are signed into Google Drive. We have quite a lot of files and folders on Box. Like any good brunch menu, you’ll find mimosas, bellinis, and other brunch-friendly cocktails. Try Samba Brunch on weekends from 11:30 AM to 3 PM. Sushisamba-Las-Vegas-Menu Download Lunch & Dinner Appetizers The amount of Edge you have in Intellect will determine how many 'free bubbles' you get where each 'bubble' represents and increased percentage chance of success. For example, trying to 'Persuade' someone to do something will make use of the 'Intellect' Stat. Whenever you do something, either in combat, or dialogue and sometimes even in exploration, you (or one of your companions) will use a particular Stat pool. This is further complicated by the fact that Skills and Abilities are different, but you only get to improve one of them each Tier.Įdge and Effort are tied to your three Stat pools which are: Might, Speed, and Intellect. There are only four Tiers in the game, so you have limited choices over what to improve. Once you complete each of these four areas, you will rise to next Tier which will open up new skills and abilities. These four areas are: Stats, Edge, Effort, and Abilities/Skills. You begin as a Tier 1 character and every time you gain a level you can improve one of four areas, but you can only improve it once each Tier. In Torment, it is done a little differently than in most RPG's. As you progress in the game you will, as expected, gain XP which will eventually allow you to 'level up'. Unlike most modern RPG's you don't get any choice with your avatar it's either an ugly male or an ugly female. After playing the game and seeing how things work I believe I could have made better initial choices. While they are all given descriptions to help you choose, I found myself unsure which was best. Your initial choices of Skills and Abilities are very important as they will have great impact on both choices you can make during the game and on general gameplay as well. These more or less correspond to your traditional Fighter, Mage, and Rogue. You have three basic choices: Glaive, Nano, and Jack. I believe that the initial sequence was designed to allow you to make a variety of choices which would appear to indicate which character type would best suit your playstyle. I found the initial character creation sequence a little weird and eventually useless as before you begin the main game you can totally change any and all of your initial choices. In Torment, you create your main character (The Last Castoff) at the beginning of the game and then you recruit up to three more characters (from a pool of 6) to round out your party as you explore and complete quests. I suspect though that how you resolve a crisis might impact your choices later in the game, so there are consequences for your actions. This actually allows you to employ your preferred playstyle and not miss out on anything important. How you manage to complete the quest is not important, the XP is always the same. The XP is granted for discoveries (which make exploration important) and for completing quests (of which there are a lot). I have tried resolving issues both peacefully and through combat and it doesn't seem to make a difference. You don't have to kill everything that moves in order to advance to the next level. Combat is always an option, but there appears to be no XP given for it. The majority of the progress one makes in Torment comes from choices made through dialogue and interactions with the environment rather than through killing things. Instead it is closer to a graphical text adventure game with massive amounts of reading to be absorbed. This is definitely not a Wizardry or Might and Magic game much as I love both of those series. In fact, it could be said that the 'action', or combat parts of the game are limited and while I don't think it is possible to totally avoid combat, most of it is optional. The first thing that must be understood is that this is not your average action RPG. However, I shall do my best to avoid anything major. As the spiritual successor to the classic Planescape:Torment, it attempts many of the same features and almost everything that can be written about it could be considered a spoiler of some sort. Writing a review of a game like Torment without giving away spoilers is something of a challenge because of the nature of the game. There are a few changes that I would make to the Furnace Golem if they were to import it from Minecraft Earth to Minecraft. And while I was not a fan of the Glow Squid, the fact that it was voted on by Minecraft fans during Minecraft Live and won elated me to see that it would be the first Minecraft Earth mob to make it to Minecraft proper. Truth be told, with the exception of the Neutral Mob that I list here, the other that are found in Minecraft Earth just don’t quite appeal to me at all. When the player defeats a Viler Witch, the mob should drop Glowstone Dust, Sugar, Redstone, Gunpowder, and Lapis Lazuli in addition to XP. They should use stronger, lingering poisons on the player as well as use invisibility and healing potions on themselves. They should not be found at witch huts but instead all over the overworld at nighttime. That’s why I would love to see the Viler Witch mob come to Minecraft to make it slightly more difficult for players to defeat. Viler WitchĪs far as I am concerned, once a player reaches iron level weapons and armor, the Witch mobs are far too easy to defeat. When defeated, Tropical Slime should drop Tropical Fish and Blue Slime Balls that have the same effect as regular Slime Balls, as well as dropping XP for the player as well. And lastly, it should only be found in Ocean biomes and along the beaches in the Overworld. It should also come in three sizes, just like normal Slime mobs. It should be a hostile mob that attacks the player when spotted instead of simply being Neutral. Not only does the Tropical Slime look a hell of a lot better than its greener cousin, but with the changes I am suggesting being made to this mob would be a lot more enticing for the player to engage with. Tropical SlimeĪnother mob that I would love to see imported from Minecraft Earth to Minecraft would be the Tropical Slime. Also, when defeated, the Skeleton Wolf should drop both XP and bones for the player. They should only spawn at night during a full and new moon and can be found in packs of 2 to 4 which attack the player as a pack. Also, the Skeleton Wolf should continually be a hostile mob, attacking the player whenever they are spotted. Skeleton WolfĪs much of a fan as I am of the Wolf mob in Minecraft, I think that the addition of the Skeleton Wolf would be a great one, especially since it cannot be tamed as its passive cousin can be. However, these three Hostile Mobs that I have listed below are certainly my favorites in the game that I would like to see imported over to freshen up the game just a little bit. Most are just variants of the same ole Zombie players deal with constantly in the game. There aren’t too many different Hostile Mobs found in Minecraft Earth that aren’t already in Minecraft. Honorable Mentions: Bone Spider, Glow Squid, Horned Sheep, Lobber Zombie, Rainbow Sheep Hostile Mobs So, I hope you enjoy my list of the 10 Minecraft Earth Mobs That Should Be Imported To Minecraft Earth. Aside from being visually striking and varied from regular Minecraft mobs, I believe that with a few tweaks and changes, these mobs, if given the chance, could add some real diversity and variation to the mobs already found in the game proper. Because, truth be told, there are quite a few unique mobs in the app that I think would be great imported additions to the regular Minecraft game. Still, it has left me wondering what, if anything, should be done with the numerous unique Minecraft Earth exclusive mobs that are found within the app. And while I am deeply saddened to see Minecraft Earth shut down, I understand the decision. As I spoke about recently here on geekXpop, Mojang has made the decision to shut down their mobile augmented reality app Minecraft Earth, in part due to how the near worldwide global pandemic and lockdown adversely affect how and when the app could be played. And then I think in a deeper way, as someone who is fully realized in my identity as a Black trans woman now, looking back, I also just think about the ways that those portrayals, particularly of trans people and LGBTQ people writ large, but also folks of color, probably seeped a bit into my understanding of the world and how our stories can be sensationalized in a way that may not be the most beneficial. And so it was a regular staple on our television. Some of my earliest memories are Jerry Springer's show being on in the background of our house. WILLIS: Well, I will say I think there was a tinge of nostalgia that kind of washed over me. How did you react to the news of his death? MCCAMMON: Before we dive into your thoughts on the show, Jerry Springer, of course, was a huge pop culture force, especially back in the '90s. MCCAMMON: To get a better sense of the legacy of "The Springer Show" (ph) and how it dealt with these issues, we've called trans activist and award-winning author Raquel Willis. UNIDENTIFIED PEOPLE: (Chanting) Jerry, Jerry, Jerry. UNIDENTIFIED PERSON #2: You was born a what? UNIDENTIFIED PERSON #1: Because I was born a male. UNIDENTIFIED PERSON #2: What do you mean? UNIDENTIFIED PERSON #1: I never was even really honest with, you know what I mean? (SOUNDBITE OF TV SHOW, "THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW") But one prominent feature of his program was transgender people, and they were often featured as a spectacle and sometimes even faced violence on stage. Since the early '90s, "The Jerry Springer "Show" was a hit and well known for its salacious topics - cheating spouses, secret children and arguments that would escalate into fistfights. Earlier this week, Jerry Springer, the former talk show host and Cincinnati mayor, died at the age of 79. All wheels come with options to add matching rotors, pulleys, sprockets. There are now a variety of destinations and companies for travels to space. However, everything changed when the other players started to grow up on the market. In the 2000s, space tourists were limited to launches aboard Russian Soyuz aircraft and only could go to the ISS. Over the next eight years, six more private citizens followed Tito to the International Space Station to become space tourists.Īs space tourism became a real thing, dozens of companies entered this industry hoping to capitalize on renewed public interest in space, including Blue Origin in 2000 and Virgin Galactic in 2004. This trip cost him $20 million and made Tito the first private citizen who purchased his space ticket. The first space tourist was Dennis Tito, an American multimillionaire, who spent nearly eight days onboard the International Space Station in April 2001. According to the Space Tourism Guide, space tourism is a commercial activity related to space that includes going to space as a tourist, watching a rocket launch, going stargazing, or traveling to a space-focused destination. However, there are broader definitions for space tourism. It’s divided into different types, including orbital, suborbital, and lunar space tourism. Space tourism is human space travel for recreational or leisure purposes. Why is space tourism bad for the environment?.How much does it cost for a person to go to space?.
